It started at a wedding
Ours, as it happens — with twenty children, four sitters, and a car full of crafts from Target.
From the founder
Hi, I'm Yanelle Ohm
Back in 2018, my late husband and I were preparing for our big day. Coming from a family of ten, there was no question there would be lots of children at our wedding. Wanting to truly elevate the experience for all of our guests, we decided to hire four sitters for the twenty children attending. A few weeks before the wedding, I gathered fun activities, games, crafts and entertainment for the kids.
After our wedding, I lost count of how many people thanked us for having childcare available. Guests told us it was the first time in years they were able to fully enjoy a wedding with their spouse or loved one without worrying about rushing home for a sitter. Parents were able to relax, celebrate, dance, and truly be present for such a special occasion.
That is where the idea of The Eventsitter was born.
I may not have realized it then, but eight years later, I am so excited to finally bring this vision to life by offering childcare services for weddings and all types of events.
